First Post - Melted Snowcone!
Welcome to the very first post of my blog! I'll be posting here about my fiber arts adventures - especially handspinning.
I’ve thrown some wonderful wool top into the dye pot last weekend. It’s a nice soft blend of different American wools and took the acid dyes brilliantly. I admit, I’ve got a thing for purples and blues, and I threw some turquoise in too Dyeing is one of those things where you can never be quite sure how it’s going to work out, especially the first time you try out a colorway. I’ve named this one “Snowcone” because it reminds me of that icy summer dessert. Doesn’t it look delicious?
I'd been busy on my amazing little Ashford E-spinner to turn this top into pretty yarn. It made a nice thicker singles for a squishy bulky two-ply, but I’m purposely adding some variation. This will be put up in my Etsy shop after it's had a hot bath to set the twist!
